Ukuleles help children in war-torn Uganda
Davida Price and Vanessa Contopulos are fellow Music Therapists. They heard about children who flee their Ugandan villages in the night for sanctuary before they are abducted into warring factions. Davida and Vanessa began the ChildSong Uganda project to bring humanity and hope to those affected in war-torn areas such as Uganda.
During their 5-week stay, they trained 15 leaders who then spread the joy of making music to others. The leaders learn to read and write music, play the ukulele and penny whistles and how to teach others.
