Fresh from the North Jersey Herald News, an interesting article about the return of our beloved instrument… the eukalelee. Ok, it’s ‘Ukulele but don’t be such a purist! Ed Beeson paints a picture of the current state of uke affairs and a bit of its past. From humble Hawaiian beginnings to the diverse and far-flung uke admirers today, Ed investigates who we are and were we might be heading.
While I disagree with Ed’s premise that there are two categories of Uke players, those that appreciate it’s sweet simplicity and tonal qualities versus those that view it as another entry into comedy clubs, Ed does treat us to a nicely written treatise on the uke. Far more in depth than most uke articles. Maybe we are poised for a comeback! Read it all here in the North Jersey Herald.
